The Department of Physical Therapy at Augusta University's College of Allied Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as core faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Our program, located in Augusta, Georgia, boasts a long history of excellence and a large network of strong clinical relationships. The ideal candidate is expected to have a commitment to learner-centered education and working cooperatively with faculty and staff effective communication and interpersonal skills with all populations and the ability to work collaboratively with others.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include

Teaching in one's area of expertise

Maintaining a productive scholarly agenda

Providing service as required by the department, college, or university.

Participation in a faculty practice environment is also available. Additionally, an opportunity exists to participate in our orthopedic residency program.

Required Qualifications

Current, unrestricted physical therapist licensure in the United States and eligibility for physical therapist licensure in Georgia.

A terminal academic degree is required; ABD candidates are encouraged to apply

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member



Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.



Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Per Board of Regents (BOR) policy, Professors must have a terminal degree

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

- Evidence of ability as a teacher;

- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
